Changed your mind? No worries. At The Oz Bargains Shop, we want you to be completely satisfied with every purchase. If something's not quite right, we've got you covered with one of Australia's most generous returns policies.
Our Promise
- 60 days to return most items for any reason
- Free returns on faulty or incorrect items
- Fast refunds processed within 2-3 business days of receiving your return
- No restocking fees on change of mind returns in original condition
Change of Mind Returns
Eligibility: You can return items within 60 days of delivery if:
- Item is in original, unused condition
- All original packaging, tags, and accessories are included
- Item hasn't been installed, assembled, or altered
- You have proof of purchase (order number or receipt)
Return Shipping: For change of mind returns, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. We recommend using a tracked service to ensure your return reaches us safely.
How to Return:
- Contact us at returns@ozbargainsshop.com.au with your order number
- We'll send you a returns authorization number and return address
- Pack the item securely in its original packaging
- Include a note with your order number and reason for return
- Ship to the provided address
- Once we receive and inspect the item, we'll process your refund
Refund Method: Refunds are issued to the original payment method:
- Credit/Debit card: 2-3 business days
- PayPal: 1-2 business days
- Afterpay/Zip: Original payment schedule reversed
Faulty or Incorrect Items
We Cover All Costs: If you receive a faulty, damaged, or incorrect item, we'll cover all return shipping costs and provide a full refund or replacement – your choice.
Our Process:
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the issue
- We'll assess the issue and provide a prepaid return label
- Return the item using our prepaid label
- Choose a replacement or full refund
- Replacements are sent via express shipping at no charge
Dead on Arrival (DOA): Electronic items that don't work straight out of the box qualify for immediate replacement with express shipping at our expense.
Warranty Claims
All items come with the manufacturer's warranty plus your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Manufacturer Warranty: Warranty periods vary by product (typically 12-24 months). Warranty details are included with your product and listed on the product page.
Australian Consumer Law: Your rights under Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded. If a product fails to meet consumer guarantees (e.g., not of acceptable quality, doesn't match description, not fit for purpose), you're entitled to a remedy even after the manufacturer's warranty expires.
Making a Warranty Claim:
- Contact us with your order number and description of the fault
- Provide photos or video of the issue if possible
- We'll assess whether repair, replacement, or refund is appropriate
- If applicable, we'll provide a prepaid return label
- We'll process your claim within 5-7 business days
Items Not Eligible for Return
For hygiene and safety reasons, some items cannot be returned once opened:
- Personal care items (electric toothbrush heads, etc.)
- Mattresses and bedding (unless faulty)
- Intimate apparel
- Consumables (batteries, filters, etc.)
- Custom or personalized items
Note: These items are still covered under Australian Consumer Law if faulty.
Refund Processing Times
Once we receive your returned item:
- Inspection: 1-2 business days
- Refund processing: 1-2 business days
- Refund appears in account: 2-5 business days (depends on your bank)
You'll receive email confirmation at each stage.
Exchanges
We don't offer direct exchanges. If you want a different size, color, or model:
- Return the original item for a refund
- Place a new order for the item you want
This ensures you get the new item as quickly as possible rather than waiting for the return to be processed first.
Damaged in Return Shipping
If you're returning an item and it gets damaged in transit:
- For faulty/incorrect items: We take responsibility (another reason to use our prepaid labels)
- For change of mind: Ensure adequate packaging and use tracked/insured shipping
Special Circumstances
Gifts: If you received an item as a gift, we can issue store credit for returns rather than a refund to the original purchaser.
Bulk Orders: Returns on orders of 5+ identical items may be subject to different terms. Contact us before returning bulk orders.
